 P1-Security Collab including RAID, SAPS, CPF/SCF, UJ Protection Services, Other Security Cos, Informal Street Patrol & CCTV.  

We aim to collaborate with multiple entities above from both the Private, Public and volunteer realm to ensure the safety of the community. Our goals as a community are to radically lesson the CRIME in our area through meaningful strategies for Prevention, Intervention, Response, Investigation, Arrest & Prosecution.

APRA have always had a Preferred Provider relationship with a carefully investigated and selected Security Provider. Currently we are in partnership with RAID. A significant part of why we chose RAID is due to their excellence in Operations, actual emergency response times, Prevention strategies and strong presence. As they are also UJs Off Campus Security Provider including 8 vehicles in the immediate surrounds. The UJ contract period has been extended several times as they have still been very pleased with RAIDs services.

The current contract is ending in December 2023 and thus APRA and the new ExCo and reset Security Committee will be doing a new round of Tenders with anywhere from 10-12 companies usually (including Fideltiy/ADT, Beagle, RAID, Stallion, Delta, ASARS and several others who have an active footprint in the area. We deliberate on all the variables and factors, including awareness and weight to UJs next provider (whomever that will be) and also invite as many who want to participate actively with us in the process and conclusions. 

All activities and participation with APRA are voluntary and thus everyone is entitled to choose whoever they personally prefer. However, we encourage residents and businesses to wait until the first quarter of 2024 to enter any further negotiations and contracts and join us in the process.
